Every two years, SMM - Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine Technology - takes place at the Hamburg Exhibition Center. Within the framework of a Fraunhofer joint stand, Fraunhofer facilities present current research results as well as competences from various fields.

2024 will focus on the following exhibits: 

• Use of AR/VR technologies in nautical systems 
• Image and voice recognition solutions with AI on the terminal and on board
• New materials in shipbuilding
• Innovative simulations of highly dynamic processes
• Solutions for holistic, intelligent shipyard planning
• System and process monitoring using smart, energy-independent sensors
