Director: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wilko Flügge

Contact: Dr. Jan Sender

The Fraunhofer Research Institution for Large Structures in Production Engineering IGP is a branch of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V., Munich (Fraunhofer Gesellschaft for the Promotion of Applied Research).

Objective of our research- and development activities is to create integrated solutions which enable our customers to manufacture cost-efficient and quality-oriented large structures.

These objects are implemented with applicable and practical solutions. The development of new manufacturing methods of the latest technically demanding engineering knowledge for customer companies is just one of our services. Therefore the Application Centre manages the transfer of innovations from the university into the industry. The existing cooperation with the University of Rostock and the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA (Stuttgart), is being used intensively.

Long term oriented and innovative research is also realized within public research programs and industrial projects.

The Fraunhofer Research Institution for Large Structures in Production Engineering offers particular scientific competences, developed and further enhanced through many projects, in the following business segments:

  • Production engineering
  • Automation Engineering/ Sensor Data Processing/ Quality Engineering
  • Organizational Engineering
  • Test Engineering
