Safety and Security

In addition to the safe operation of rail vehicles and networks, safety and security also includes secure data communication and handling of data itself as well as special protection as critical infrastructure against misuse and sabotage. The members of Fraunhofer Rail offer expertise and solutions for all safety and security-related issues, partly tailored to rail applications and partly as transfer solutions from other areas of mobility. In addition to safety and security detection methods, Fraunhofer Rail develops technical solutions for monitoring the rail network and vehicles, protecting the infrastructure including communication systems and increasing resilience.
