AI-based acoustic quality control of products and processes

AI-based acoustic monitoring (amo) is an interplay of artificial intelligence (AI), acoustic sensor technology and intelligent methods for audio signal processing, which are used in combination to monitor production processes, for quality control of end products or also for predictive maintenance.

By using AI technologies, acoustic signals are automatically detected, classified and evaluated in near-real time. Defects or errors in production are thus detected at an early stage and can be corrected in time.

In the development and design of new vehicles, amo helps to improve the quality of products through continuous in-line monitoring as well as seamless end-of-line inspections. A proven application scenario where the analysis of acoustic emissions has already delivered reliable results in-process is the weld seam inspection of safety-critical components as part of quality assurance (project "AKoS").

An added value of acoustic sound emission analysis: it works in a non-contact and non-destructive manner and can also be integrated into existing production facilities in a minimally invasive manner.

AI-based acoustic monitoring in the production of vehicles should help to produce in a resource-efficient manner, avoid test scrap, ensure quality and stabilize processes. We improve production - we listen!
