Resilience
The topic of resilience deals with the potential of logistics services to increase the resilience of transport networks on the one hand and the position of logistics in production networks with regard to their resilience on the other. To summarize: How resilient is logistics itself and how does it influence the resilience of production?
In general, logistics is not seen as a component of production, but rather as a cross-sectional function for production networks. The role of logistics encompasses the supply of production - the supply chain for raw materials, supplies and production stages - as well as the distribution and forwarding of produced goods - distribution and trade. This enables logistics to record and analyze the economic production performance of companies via the flow of goods in the logistics networks and thus to interact with the production companies at an early stage, depending on specific economic, ecological or social objectives.
