Legislative demands for drastic reductions in greenhouse gases, also in the transport sector, continue unabated. Technical innovations are required here, and the member institutes of the Transport Alliance are making significant contributions to this: The development of alternative drive systems together with the necessary infrastructure is necessary to reduce environmental pollution, increase energy efficiency, reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote technological innovations. But the further development of thermal engines, powered by CO2-neutral synthetic fuels, also contributes to this. The member institutes of the Fraunhofer Transportation Alliance pursue technology-open approaches to solutions, thereby enabling more sustainable and future-proof mobility.
